Sexual harassment refers to persistent and unwanted sexual advances, typically in the workplace, where the consequences of refusing are potentially very disadvantageous to the victim. It can happen anywhere but commonly it happens in the schools and workplace. It involves unwanted and unwelcome jokes, offensive words on clothing, touching and any other bodily contact, gestures, behaviors of a sexual nature that make the target feel uncomfortable. The majority of complaints come from women, which is cases reported happens in the work place.
There are so many causes of sexual harassment happen in the work places and it can be complex, such as because of personal problem, psychology, politics and etc. In the workplace, the making of unwanted and offensive sexual advances or of sexually offensive remarks or acts, mostly is being done by one in a superior or supervisory position or when acquiescence to such behavior is a condition of continued employment, promotion, or satisfactory evaluation. If any employer didn’t take any precaution on this matter, it can lead to an unreasonably interferes with an individual's work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment
